keeping my promises

Enhanced Bobcaygeon tourism was a priority in my 2014 campaign.

✔    As promised, I worked on getting better signage for visitors and on networking with local stakeholders to secure grant funding to deliver events, beautification to Bobcaygeon, and community-based initiatives to engage residents.

I will continue to work with you to promote our communities in all areas of the newly expanded ward. I will help leverage all that is great about this area to build our community as a 4-season destination, enhancing our shoulder seasons with activities and events that showcase our vibrant towns.

One of the prime reasons for my candidacy in the last election was my frustration with Development Services.

✔    As promised, I advocated for and voted for a planning task force which resulted in recommendations including a pre-consultation process which outlines everything the applicant needs to do to move their application forward. This department has changed immensely and is now processing applications faster than ever. Permits, plans and approvals are easier for everyone involved. We have come a long way but there is still work to be done. I will continue to be a proponent for improvement.

I  will continue to advocate for improvement in the City of Kawartha Lakes processes. I will continue to use my experience to assist my constituents, guiding them through the municipal departments and helping them achieve their goals.

Four years ago, when you voted for me you voted for change . . .  and change we have.

✔    We have laid a firm foundation in the past 4 years, and have a balanced strategic plan in place. I am proud to say that City of Kawartha Lakes has changed the direction of our budgeting process. We are no longer raiding reserves to balance the budget to take care of our infrastructure. We have moved to financial planning for the long term. With a clear picture of what it costs to run our municipality, we are now making decisions based in financial fact.

✔ I kept my promise to listen to you and represented you with a strong sense of community and understanding of the needs of our residents, businesses and cottagers.
